How quickly can you supply staff?

For roles where we already hold compliant, available workers nearby, cover can often be arranged within 24 hours and sometimes the same day. Roles requiring specific licences, clearances or extended referencing take longer — airside positions at Heathrow, for example, can take several weeks. We give you a realistic timescale when we take the brief rather than a standard answer.

What information do you need to start?

The role, the site address, the shift pattern, how many workers you need, the start date and the rate you have in mind. Anything role-specific — a licence, a card, a DBS requirement, particular experience — helps us shortlist accurately rather than sending people back.

How are your charge rates made up?

Your charge rate covers the worker's pay, employer National Insurance, holiday pay accrual, pension contributions where applicable, and our margin. We set that out before you commit rather than quoting a single number and leaving you to work out what sits inside it.

Is there a minimum booking?

We handle single-day and short bookings routinely. Where a minimum engagement applies to a particular arrangement, it is agreed with you upfront and stated in your terms — never introduced afterwards on an invoice.

What happens if a worker does not perform or does not turn up?

Tell us immediately. We will look to replace them, and the outcome feeds into who we put forward for your site in future. We would much rather hear about a problem on the first shift than at the end of a placement.

Yes. Temp-to-perm is common and we agree the terms, including any transfer fee, at the start of the assignment so the option is clear from the outset rather than becoming a negotiation once you have decided.

Our strongest coverage is Hounslow, Heathrow, West London, Greater London and Middlesex, and we support sites along the M4 corridor. If you are outside that area, ask us — we will tell you honestly whether we can support the requirement properly rather than taking it on and under-delivering.

Yes. High-volume recruitment is a core service. We agree an intake plan against your volume forecast, run sourcing and compliance in waves matched to your training capacity, and report fill rates through the programme so you can see progress rather than being told the outcome at the end.

How do I register for work?

Start your registration online, then complete your profile and upload your documents. Once your documents have been checked and your compliance is complete, we will contact you about assignments that suit your availability, location and experience.

Does it cost anything to register?

No. We never charge work-seekers a fee for finding or seeking to find them work. If any agency asks you to pay to be found work, that is a serious warning sign.

What documents do I need?

Proof of your right to work in the UK, photographic identity, proof of your address, your National Insurance number and your bank details for payment. Depending on the role you may also need certificates or licences — a forklift licence, an SIA licence, a food hygiene certificate or a DBS check.

No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Assignments are offered based on availability, your compliance status, your skills and experience, and what our clients need at the time. What we will do is be straightforward with you about what is realistically available.

How long does registration take?

The registration itself takes under an hour if you have your documents ready. Compliance checks take longer — usually a few days for most roles, but considerably longer where extended referencing or a DBS check is required. Airside roles at Heathrow take the longest.

Can I choose which shifts I work?

You tell us your availability and we offer assignments that fit it. Once you accept a shift we expect you to work it — reliability is what determines whether you keep being offered work, and it is the single thing that most affects how much you are offered.

What checks do you complete before someone starts?

As a minimum: Right to Work verification, photographic identity verification and references appropriate to the role. Depending on the role we also verify licences and certificates, arrange DBS checks where the role is eligible, and check driving entitlements. Checks are completed before a worker is put forward, not afterwards.

Do you monitor visa and licence expiry dates?

Yes. Expiry dates for time-limited permission, SIA licences, forklift certificates, DBS certificates and other dated documents are recorded and monitored, with alerts raised in advance. A worker whose required document has lapsed is not deployed on assignments requiring it.

Can you provide evidence of checks for our own audit?

Yes. We maintain records of the checks completed for the workers we supply and can provide the evidence your audit requires on request. This matters particularly for clients who are themselves audited by their customers.

Do you cut corners on compliance for urgent bookings?

No. Speed comes from having completed checks in advance at registration, not from skipping them at the point of booking. If a worker's checks are not complete they are not deployed, whatever the urgency — and we will tell you that rather than sending them and hoping.

Are workers paid PAYE?

Workers engaged directly by Ready Staff are paid through PAYE where applicable, with income tax and National Insurance deducted at source. Where a worker is engaged on a different basis, that basis is documented and made clear to both the worker and the client.

Weekly, where that applies to the assignment. The pay date and the cut-off for approved hours are set out in the Key Information Document each worker receives before they start.

How is holiday pay handled?

Holiday entitlement accrues in line with statutory requirements based on the hours worked. Accrual and payment are administered by Ready Staff and appear on the worker's payslip.

It is a document every agency work-seeker must receive before agreeing terms. It sets out who is paying you, the type of contract, the minimum rate you can expect, how holiday is dealt with and any deductions. If you have not received one, ask for it.
