About the role
Kitchen porters are the backbone of a working kitchen — washing up, keeping surfaces and equipment clean, and helping the chefs keep service moving. It is fast-paced, hands-on work in hospitality, contract catering and hotels.
What the role involves
- Washing crockery, cutlery, pots and kitchen equipment
- Keeping food-preparation and wash-up areas clean and hygienic
- Basic food preparation and putting away deliveries when asked
- Taking out waste and following food-safety procedures
What you’ll need
- The right to work in the UK
- Reliability and a willingness to work as part of a team
- Able to keep pace during a busy service
- A Food Hygiene certificate is helpful but not essential
