Picking, packing and moving stock in distribution and fulfilment centres.
About the role
Warehouse operatives keep a distribution or fulfilment operation moving — receiving deliveries, putting stock away, picking and packing orders, and preparing goods for dispatch. It is active, on-your-feet work, often to a daily target, in a team led by a shift supervisor.
What the role involves
- Picking and packing orders accurately against a pick list or handheld scanner
- Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock
- Loading and unloading goods, and preparing pallets for dispatch
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe
- Meeting productivity and accuracy targets for the shift
What you’ll need
- The right to work in the UK
- Reliability and good timekeeping
- Comfortable being on your feet and with manual handling
- Basic English for safety instructions; warehouse experience is helpful but not always essential
